San Domingo Rosewood heartwood is bright pinkish-brown to reddish or purple-brown with alternating dark markings and is clearly demarcated from the sapwood which is yellow or creamy white. San Domingo Rosewood grain is generally straight to slightly wavy and the wood has a medium to fine texture with a low lustre.
